Hello there! I'm kicking off 2015 with a fresh new haircut (not exactly what I wanted, but just Anna Karina enough for me to deal with) and a fresh new outlook on fashion. I'm definitely hoping to pull more inspiration from anywhere I can with each outfit. My lifelong interest in the 1960s is definitely where my personal style began to take form, so I decided to pay homage to that (as well as celebrate one of my favourite thrift finds of the year so far) by wearing an outfit inspired by 1960s schoolgirls--a favourite look of mine.
I do often wonder at what age the "schoolgirl" look becomes inappropriate. I'm currently 20 and well out of my "schoolgirl" days but I feel like I could still pull this off. Perhaps the problem isn't what the cut-off age is but rather the fact that I am even thinking about the dos and don'ts of a certain look. I say if you love a look, wear it proudly despite your age or size. Maybe that's a cliché but it's a good one. I think I'm just rambling now.
I hope your New Year has started off splendidly! I look forward to sharing mine with you.
Stay sweet ♡
