Ladylike

Lately, I've been thinking back to when I was 15 and just starting to develop my own personal style and how I used to dress then. I've always had vintage inspiration, but lately I've sort of lost that soft, effortless, ladylike feel that used to be my go-to everyday look. I suppose because I enjoy a more elaborate ensemble every once in a while, and have become more expressive with colour. When I do pull out the occasional outfit like this, however, I do notice a difference in the way I feel.

I suppose the best way to describe it would be that this particular side of my style makes me feel a lot older and more mature--like a proper adult. I've branched out into experimenting with other styles and trends in an efforts to take advantage of the fact that I am 20 years old and in university and can dress as I like, but it is comforting to have an alternative style waiting for me that can take me throughout any age, and can fit almost any occasion.

This was a bit of a babbly post, but hopefully it made some sense. I suppose I'm just rambling more than anything. I've been putting a lot of thought (perhaps too much) into my sense of fashion and I am beginning to realise that my taste isn't as finite as I had identified it before (sorry, wallet!). I feel that this blog hasn't even begun to touch what is the full embodiment of my personal style, but I look forward to sharing it with you in the years to come. ((I feel it necessary to say that I am, however, much more than just my appearance and would never value myself on clothing articles alone!))

Stay sweet ♡

  1. This outfit is just so cute! It is amazing how personal style can change your mood so much, that's why I love playing with many different styles =}

  2. Oooh. You look so pretty in this. And what I love about fashion is that it doesn't have to be so defined! You like what you like and it doesn't have to fit in a box. I've been asked to define my personal style before and it's always sort of tricky. I'm so inspired by so many things, and I love being able to play with influences! I bet that as an actor, you like being able to draw from a ton of reference points, which means your personal style will evolve even from day to day. :)
